The Inclusive Leadership Forum Presents: How Women of Color are Reimagining the Future of Work
June 10 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PDTFree
This past year has seen an unprecedented number of women of color leaving the technology workplace, and many more are considering leaving their jobs or downshifting their careers by the end of 2021. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Black, Latinx, and Asian women accounted for all of women’s job losses last December, with over 150,000 Black women dropping out of the labor force entirely. Many of these women felt the increasing burden of unpaid care- including cooking, cleaning, shopping, childcare and education, and caring for sick and aging parents—which is disproportionately carried by women.
Additionally, women of color have been hit the hardest in pandemic-related job losses, with higher rates of unemployment compared with white women. Considering women of color are severely underrepresented in the tech sector- creating and investing in solutions to increase representation is both morally and economically imperative to our society. What does it look like for women of color to reimagine the future of work in this new reality that we find ourselves in? Importantly, how can they make a comeback that is aligned with their purpose, values, and goals?
Join our panel as we take a deep dive into what it will take for leaders to build, advance, and support a better, sustainable future for women of color in the technology workforce.
