The Startup & Venture Capital Club Series: Building a Winning Team

The Startup & Venture Capital Club is a monthly series of events designed for founders who are in their early stages, anywhere from pre-seed through Series A, when entrepreneurs need all the guidance they can get. From formation, pitching, building a great team, IP, raising your first round, product, marketing & brand strategy, customer acquisition, and so much more- we will have a full interactive session lead by an expert, ready to answer your questions. In partnership with Hopkins & Carley, join us for the second event of our series on Dec 3rd as we take a deep dive into:

Building a Winning Team

Being able to build your startup team takes a lot of work- as pay alone does not attract nor retain your company’s best talent. Regardless of how great your product is, building a strong team is your stepping stones to success as you look to reach your scalable goals.

Our speaker will take you on an interactive discussion on real life lessons learned and share strategies for building your own ‘A’ team!

Not an early-stage founder? That’s okay, too. Later-stage founders, investors, or startup enthusiasts are also welcome to attend. There is a limited amount of space available, so get your tickets early to secure your virtual seat!

MEET THE SPEAKER:

Sam Hodges is Co-Founder and CEO of Vouch Insurance, a venture-backed commercial insurance business focused on serving the needs of high-growth companies. Previously, Sam served as CoFounder and U.S. Managing Director for Funding Circle, a leading global lending platform for small businesses, where he helped scale the U.S. operation to over $1.5B in total origination volume, serving tens of thousands of small businesses. Funding Circle went public on the London Stock Exchange in Fall 2018.

Before this, Sam played a role in building several other financial technology companies and started his career in management consulting and investing. Sam currently serves on the boards of two private companies.

He received his MBA and MS from Stanford University and graduated, magna cum laude, from Brown University. Sam is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
