Japanese Pitch Night

We were delighted to partner with NEDO Japan for a second time in 2016 with an immersion week and Pitch Night in Silicon Valley. Held from October 3rd through October 6th, 2016, six amazing Japanese startups from the NEDO program both toured and enjoyed presentations from 500 Startups and Yelp, followed by a visit to leading Palo Alto VC firm Venrock (with our awesome Board member Steve Goldberg at the helm!). The entrepreneurs got to enjoy California’s beautiful fall weather on Pillsbury Law’s sunny patio for a business matchmaking session.

The week culminated with Japanese Pitch Night at Hero City in San Mateo, California. The Pitch Night began with an informative panel on corporate involvement with entrepreneurs/startups (both in the US and Japan), and ended with pitches from each of the six amazing NEDO startups.

We’re grateful to our panelists and startup judges—Steve Goldberg of Venrock, Koji Sakamoto of YJ America, Inc, and Mitch Kitamura of Draper Nexus—as well as Aya Iwasuji and Shinnosuke Kameyama of NEDO Silicon Valley for collaborating with SVF once again.
