Jie Li is a Senior Research Scientist on the Machine Learning Research Team at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). She leads the representation learning effort at TRI where she focuses on solving issues around online perception for automated driving and robotics, including GAN-based domain adaptation, panoptic segmentation, and depth estimation. Jie received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan, majoring in computer vision and robotics. During graduate school, she worked on improving the localization and mapping capabilities of underwater robots under extreme environments. Jie became a new mom last year. She is currently enjoying teaching both robots and her newborn how to adapt to different and new environments.
