On October 16th, 2017, we organized one of our largest conferences ever: ‘Robots on the Rise: Building the Future of Robotics in Japan and the US’ planned in partnership with NEDO Silicon Valley and with support from World Robot Summit. NEDO is one of the largest national research and development organizations in Japan, and through this partnership we brought US and Japanese robotics experts together for a day filled with amazing new insights and information, and discussions on the latest technology developments and trends happening in robotics today. The agenda was packed with keynote talks and panel discussions covering everything from consumer robotics to robotics in retail, manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, and search and rescue, as well as the latest investments in robotics.
Held at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA, the conference brought together 48 speakers and experts from companies such as Toyota Research Institute, Yamaha Motor Ventures, Honda Innovations, Matternet, IBM Venture Capital Group, Ford, GE Ventures, NVIDIA and much more. We were especially honored to have Chairman of NEDO, Kazuo Furukawa and Consul-General of Japan, San Francisco, Jun Yamada inaugurate the conference. The Computer History Museum was filled with more than 600 participants during the day, and more than 30 companies demoing their latest robots and technologies in the exhibitor hall.
If you weren’t able to attend the conference or maybe want a recap, we’ve got you covered: listen to all the talks and panel discussions right here.
