Silicon Valley Forum and Hopkins & Carley Announce New Partnership, Event Series

San Jose, CA— Today, Silicon Valley Forum announced a new partnership with Hopkins & Carley, a Silicon Valley law firm whose history reflects the evolution, entrepreneurship and vibrancy of the region. The alliance will kick off a new monthly event series, The Startup & Venture Capital Club– designed for founders who are in their early stages, anywhere from preseed through Series A. Each session will be hosted by an experienced investor, legal expert, successful entrepreneur, and other experts, to deliver actionable advice on how to maximize a startup’s potential. The series will address a myriad of topics, including funding, how to pitch to investors, go-to-market strategy, intellectual property, customer acquisition & commercialization, marketing & branding strategy, data, privacy & security, building a perfect team, valuations & M&A, and much more.

“It’s a pleasure to join forces with Hopkins & Carley on this new event series,” said Denyse Cardozo, Executive Director of Silicon Valley Forum. “Hopkins & Carley’s commitment to the entrepreneurial ecosystem aligns with our organization’s 37-year history of working with startups at their early stages, as well as connecting them to people and resources to guide them on the path to success.”

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Silicon Valley Forum,” said Brendan Lund, Chair of the Hopkins & Carley’s Corporate Department. “We advise emerging growth companies through the full life cycle of their business and often act as outside general counsel. We also advise a number of angel investors and venture funds.” “Partnerships with leading organizations like Silicon Valley Forum are a critical component of this and enable us to further engage with the startups at every stage of their journey.”

The event series kicks off on Oct 29th, with a seasoned Silicon Valley investor discussing What is Venture Capital and How Does it Work? “True partnerships between investors and entrepreneurs is how we will create great companies and solve some of the biggest problems facing us,” said Amit Garg, Managing Partner of Tau Ventures. “I currently invest in seed stage and have been in Silicon Valley now for over two decades, witnessing the work the Silicon Valley Forum has been doing for almost four decades. It’s an honor and a pleasure to be the featured speaker for their launch event.”
